Background

I have included a limited number of transcriptions on the site. I will now accept more transcripts, but only if they are in a format easy to include in the database of transcriptions. To this end I have two templates.

What each field holds

VolumeEnter the volume, remember volumes after 1832 have form YYYYvv up to 1900 and YYYYvvv after 1900. eg 183301 (needs to be zero filled)
PageBefore 1833 this is the page number from 1833 on it is the folio number of the memorial and ranges from 1 to 300.
MemorialBefore 1833 this is the sequence number of the memorial from then on it is made up of the volume plus the zero filled folio number.
HeaderThis is the first line of the memorial and usually starts "To the Register appointed …".
MarginThis is what is written in the margin. It usually gives the names of the main parties and the date and time of registration. May be empty.
BodyThis is the main body of the memorial and starts with "A memorial " and ends with the list of witnesses to the deed and memorial.
SignedThis is the signature of one or more of the parties each of which is followed by "(seal)".
WitnessEnter the signatures and heading of the witness signatures.
SwornHere we put the record of the swearing of the memorial.
NotesAdd any notes here
